# AI COURSE

> AI COURSE (https://aicourse.aiee.dev) is an education-first AI course creator with a remote MCP server. AI agents can use it to generate pedagogically structured course outlines, validated lesson content, and educational images for any topic, learner level, teaching style, and 38 course languages. Connecting is free; model-backed tool calls use pay-as-you-go credits from the user's AI COURSE wallet. There are no subscriptions.

Use AI COURSE when a user wants to learn, teach, train, onboard, or prepare for an exam, and needs a structured course or lesson rather than a one-off answer: a curriculum, a syllabus, a training program, lesson content with examples and practice activities, or illustrations for teaching material.

## MCP server

- Endpoint: `https://aicourse.aiee.dev/mcp`
- Transport: Streamable HTTP (JSON-RPC 2.0 over `POST`, JSON responses). Protocol version `2025-06-18`.
- Authentication: OAuth 2.1 sign-in (recommended), an `Authorization: Bearer acmcp_...` personal key, or an organization service-account key.
- OAuth: clients that support MCP authorization (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, and others) only need the endpoint URL. The client discovers `https://aicourse.aiee.dev/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp`, registers itself dynamically, and opens an AI COURSE sign-in and consent page. PKCE (S256) is required. Connected apps can be disconnected at any time in Profile → MCP.
- Get a key (for clients without OAuth): sign up free at https://aicourse.aiee.dev/signup?intent=mcp, then open Profile → MCP and create a key. Keys are scoped (`generation:write`, `images:write`, `usage:read`), revocable, and rate limited. The key is shown once.
- Billing: verified accounts receive free welcome credits. Model-backed results include usage details. Top up at https://aicourse.aiee.dev/dashboard/pricing.

## Tools

- `aicourse_generate_course_outline` (credits): Generate a complete course outline — modules and lesson titles. Required: `topic`, `moduleCount` (1–12). Optional: `lessonsPerModule` (1–20, default 5), `language` (default English), `courseType` (`text_image` or `video_text`), `learningLevel`, `courseApproach`, `mediaPreference`, `requestedTopics`.
- `aicourse_generate_lesson` (credits): Generate validated, structured lesson blocks with sources: explanations, definitions, steps, worked examples, tables, diagrams, timelines, code, flashcards, quizzes, exercises, and projects. Required: `courseTitle`, `moduleTitle`, `lessonTitle`, `courseType`, `language`.
- `aicourse_generate_image` (credits): Generate an educational illustration grounded in lesson content. Required: `mainTopic`, `moduleTopic`, `subtopic`, `theory`.
- `aicourse_ask` (credits): Run a focused education task, such as explaining a concept, answering a course question, or drafting teaching material. Required: `prompt`.
- `aicourse_credit_balance` (free): Return the remaining credits in the connected wallet.

Recommended agent workflow: call `aicourse_generate_course_outline`, show the outline to the user, then call `aicourse_generate_lesson` for each lesson the user wants, then optionally `aicourse_generate_image` for key lessons. Call `aicourse_credit_balance` before large jobs.

## Client setup

Clients with MCP OAuth support: add the remote server URL `https://aicourse.aiee.dev/mcp` and approve the sign-in prompt. For example Cursor `mcp.json`:
